The Boston Celtics play their home games at TD Garden in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. They have been knocking there since it opened its doors in 1995 as a replacement for the infamous Boston Garden. The Celtics share their home with the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Boston will try to end with more wins than defeats this year in an increasingly difficult Eastern Conference. Last year, the Celtics ended right in. Their list looks very different from the previous season, despite bringing back Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. The Celtics are in the Atlantic division, alongside the New York Knicks, the Toronto Raptors, the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers.
The 76ers were at the top of the division last year; however, the Nets are favored this coming season, assuming they can stay healthy. Boston has 15 consecutive games this year, which is the most tied (along with several other teams). The Celtics have a Christmas Day game against the Milwaukee Bucks, which will be played just after the Hawks vs. They have 33 games televised nationally, which is quite substantial for a team that only won half of their matches last season.
Marcus Smart left the contest in the second quarter with a sprained right ankle, which probably contributed to Nesmith's increased playing time. The great 29-year-old man spent his first three and a half seasons of his career with Boston and seems to have picked up right where he left off. White drew the start instead of Marcus Smart (ankle), but struggled with his shot and failed to score in double figures for the first time since joining Boston. In his debut game for his second season with Boston, Theis came off the bench and set a new high season in blocks.
